Let us take you on a journey starting from our humble beginnings to us becoming a champion for health, wellbeing, social inclusion, and community connection in Victoria.
Walking Football 4 Health Victoria began its inspiring journey on 9 March 2024, when founder Mick Trim — motivated by his own health challenges and passion for football — launched the organisation’s first session at Y Leisure City in Epping.
After becoming officially incorporated on 1 April 2024, our organisation quickly expanded, opening new locations across Victoria, including Dandenong and Greensborough, and later hosting our first tournament in August 2024.
Throughout 2024, Walking Football 4 Health continued gaining momentum, adding more session locations, running additional tournaments, and growing community engagement — even reaching the Parliament of Victoria as part of its advocacy for accessible, low‑impact sport.
Today, our organisation delivers safe, inclusive walking football sessions across Melbourne and selected areas in regional Victoria, supported by collaborations with partners such as Diabetes Victoria, Disability Sports Australia, and the Shake It Up Australia Foundation, while championing health, fitness, wellbeing, social inclusion, and community connection for people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
