WALKING FOOTBALL
for Health

Walking Football 4 Health Victoria is dedicated to improving health and fitness through a safe, inclusive version of soccer. Our modified rules—no running, no contact, and no ball above waist height—ensure the game is accessible to all ages and abilities, making it ideal for people with health conditions like Parkinson’s, heart disease, Diabetes, Stroke, and Dementia.

We encourage families to participate, creating a unique multi-generational experience, with players as young as 7 joining alongside grandparents.

Founded in March 2024 by Mick Trim, we’ve rapidly expanded from Epping to multiple locations across Victoria, including Dandenong, Greensborough, and Point Cook, with more to come. We proudly collaborate with organizations like Diabetes Victoria, Disability Sports Australia, and the Shake It Up Australia Foundation, and have partnered with Gotcha4Life Mental Health Organisation to bring health and active living opportunities to people across the state.

Mick was born in Coburg, VIC but grew up in the UK, hence his accent and love of soccer/football.
He is a supporter of Luton Town FC who currently play in the English Championship
division. Mick moved permanently to Melbourne in 1996 and is married to Elma and has 3
children.
In 2016 Mick got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a nerve condition which basically
means he is in pain somewhere in his body all the time.
The condition meant he had to give up work, driving and playing sport. As a result he became very depressed, until Walking Football came along.
He is now able to play the sport he loves, improving his mental health considerably.

After a couple of years of playing he started Walking Football 4 Health Victoria and as
they say… the rest is history. He has provided the opportunity for others in similar situations to play the sport, improve mental and physical health and created a supportive community.
